Prof Renzi Lin

Lin Renzi, the present Chairman of ODTSU, is a professor and Doctoral Supervisor of China University of Petroleum (Beijing). He is one of the leading “experts who has special contribution” in the China oil industry, enjoying special allowance from the state council. Prof Lin successively held the posts of the Headmaster of Jianghan Petroleum College, the Headmaster of Xi’an Petroleum University, Vice Director of China Petroleum Education Association, Director of China Petroleum Association and the Director of Chinese Geological Education Association. Engaged in education, research and application work in Petroleum geochemistry for many years, at the present Prof Lin is fully committed to the development and application of reservoir geochemical techniques from oilfield exploration to development domain, with the objective of mastery of the various techniques. From 1960 to 1970 (10 years), Prof Lin worked on petroleum geochemistry testing and comprehensive research in the institute of Daqing oilfield; from 1970 to 1979 (9 years), he worked on geophysical prospecting for petroleum and comprehensive research in Jianghan oilfield. Since 1979, he has been lecturing at three Petroleum Universities – 1) Jianghan Petroleum College, 2) Xi’an Petroleum University and 3) China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and committed to realize integrated cooperation of exploration geochemistry and geochemical development, from production, education, research and application. Prof Lin is one of the pioneers of terrestrial facies of petroleum theory, and one of the main founders of key subjects of Petroleum Geochemistry. Prof Lin is exceptional at closely combining the actual production needs, central on the overall goal of improving the production of crude oil and increasing the ultimate recovery – he carried out research and composition adjustments of reservoir geochemistry, and has been ranked 2nd by CNPC’s scientific and technological progress panel for three times successively. Prof Lin is also noted for importing and developing Microbial prospecting technology, and completed microbial prospecting tasks in more than 30 blocks in diversified landscape areas both onshore and offshore. Among the areas of application, the technology is used in determining the residual oil distribution in developed oilfields, which enabled achieving outstanding recovery by using microbial characterization techniques.

Prof Liu Anjian

Liu Anjian is a professoriate senior engineer of petroleum industry, a member of the Chinese petroleum society and SPE. Currently vice-chairman of ODTSU, she was the first member of National Standardization Committee of the petroleum industry for oilfield chemistry, Director of China in-well fluid and its compatibility to the production zone testing centre, Vice Chief Engineer of China Petroleum Liaohe Oilfield Drilling Technology Research Institute, and Director of Oilfield Chemicals Research Institute. Madam Liu started her career from the ranks of an ordinary worker, gained experience in the developed oilfield sites, to be familiar with every step of oilfield development, and to master all the processes of oilfield production. Her experience encompasses multiple types of whole process of oilfield development. She received a scientific and technological progress award by creating “acid-soluble aggravating agent for reservoir protection used in drilling”, the prize was issue by petroleum industry department of Liaohe petroleum bureau. This acid-soluble aggravating agent generated remarkable economic benefit, and has been widely use in Chinese oilfields, the market share reached to 46%. In 1987, Prof Liu went to Huston on behalf of China, to design high angle directional well with MI group, and discussing horizontal drilling problems with curvature radius and borehole stability. She was the main contributor of “reservoir protection technology”, which was a national key scientific and technological project during eight-five year period. This “reservoir protection technology” gained National Scientific and Technological Progress Award, and lead to immeasurable economic benefits. In the petroleum industry, Prof Liu conceptualized a new idea about “in-well fluid and its compatibility of reservoir”, which lead to the setting up of “China in-well fluid and its compatibility to the production zone testing centre”, the centre operates with good economic and technical benefit for more than 20 years, and its delegation went to Canada Alberta ARC institute, to promote advanced technology of “Reservoir water chemistry”. Prof Liu is well versed and knows well that “the dynamic monitoring technology of oilfield water injection development and production” was the key technology of “well injection”. In the decades of work experience in oilfield injection development and management, she invented “oilfield micro material tracing and inter-well tracing technology” (patent number is ZL01138834X). This patent is a major technology for oilfield stable production and searching residual oil, and widely used in Chinese oilfields, and is leading the development and direction of the expertise at home and abroad. Prof Liu successfully lead and developed oil water flooding techniques, increased and stabilized crude production multiple times over 10-year period, and reached tremendous economic benefit.
